About the Event

Wild Women – Do you feel a fire building within you as this spring season arrives? Are you looking for ways to explore the edges of your potential and push those boundaries? Are you feeling called to connect more deeply with your most powerful self? Are you wanting to feel more alive?

In this workshop, we will be working with the Warrior Goddess – an archetype whose qualities appear strongly in spring. We will explore several hands-on activities to get in touch with her energy in our lives and discover how to develop her powers within ourselves. Anyone who identifies as a woman or a moon cycler is welcome.

This is what we'll be doing:

Bow Drill Fires – This is a form of friction fire – essentially rubbing two sticks together! I love teaching bow drill because it teaches us persistence, problem solving, grit, and determination. This is not an easy skill, but because fire is such a sacred element, and so essential for our survival, the pay-off is well worth it!

Knots and Shelters – This may sound funny, but learning how to tie knots is one of the biggest things in my life that has made me feel like a more capable person. Knots come in handy more often than you would think, and there is no substitute for a good knot when you really need one. We’ll learn the clove hitch, bowline knot, trucker’s hitch, and half hitch, and how to use them to set up a tarp shelter.

Archery – Archery is about more than just trying to hit a bullseye. How we physically hold our bodies influences how we feel about ourselves and archery gives us a direct way of practicing this. The strength and poise you develop as you are learning to shoot helps create an energy of strength and poise in your life as well. And getting a bullseye is fun, too!

Cost: $85 (no one turned away for lack of funds)

After registration, a confirmation with payment information will be sent to you. Payment is required to reserve your spot. If you need a reduced registration fee, you are welcome to pay what you can.

Location Info: We will meet at the Churchill High School visitor parking lot (at the corner of W. 18th AVE & Bailey Hill Road) and carpool to the workshop site, which is about 1 hour outside of Eugene.

Also bring warm clothes and rain gear (maybe even a change of clothes if it's raining - the location does have covered areas, but best to be prepared for getting wet!). Waterproof shoes recommended.
